In the world the only thing constant in the world is change. This means that change is but inevitable in the world. The media recognize this need for change, thus they adopt to different mediums apart from the written word. Newspapers and news outfits explore other options such as online newspapers which allow for the delivery of news to the people who want them—online.
Online newspapers serve the same function as printed newspapers. The difference, however, lies on several things:
1.It is accessible to more people. Because of the existence of the world wide web, more and more people from across the globe can subscribe to news from anywhere in the globe. More people has access to the war in the Middle East or the current economic situation of the global markets, or even specific happenings such as the entertainment industry in India. Because the information is publsihed online, the span and reach of online newspapers are wider than the printed word.
2.However, the target audience, may or may not have access to the written word published in online newspapers, which is why printed newspapers do not yet become obsolete.
3.Online newspaper subscription are virtually free, as opposed to printed newspaper subscriptions.
